What is SEGA Searchlight?
Searchlight is a division of SEGA that specialises in partnering with external development talent to support, nurture and help to bring their game visions to market. We work with quality studios and individuals who have great ideas, offering a full selection of publishing expertise and game development services to allow them to focus on what they do best - make great games.
- Find & Secure: Finding the best games from creative independent studios and individuals
- Incubate & Grow: Offering a full suite of publishing support to help creators realise their vision and launch a great game
- Acquire & Integrate: Help to realise the studio vision and grow in a sustainable way
Who are we looking for?
If you’re an independent developer or individual with a strong track record of making fun games on PC or Console, and a long-term vision on where you could take it, we want to hear from you.
What makes SEGA Searchlight different?
We’re in it for the long haul. We’re doing this because we want to invest in partners and support great ideas, so we’re not interested in one-off projects. We want to build long-term partnerships and help create new franchises. This means that we only sign the best projects, and we give them the focus they deserve – both from the dedicated SEGA Searchlight team and from the wider SEGA group. We’ll help you benefit from the wider expertise of SEGA publishing resources and deliver the best possible game.
What’s happened so far?
SEGA Searchlight most recently worked with Two Point Studios to release the hugely successful Two Point Hospital in August 2018, hitting the top of the Steam charts and following up with months of additional support. In May 2019, Two Point Studios was acquired by SEGA Europe, allowing for further studio and franchise growth. New projects will be announced in the coming months.
